Citroen C5 hub/brake question

Unread post by Xud »

Hi, I have a peugeot 305 and I'm trying to fit bigger brakes.

The trouble is the hubs won't accept vented discs because the offset of them means they foul the hub.

I'm playing with the idea of fitting citroen C5 front hubs.

As long as I use the 305 ball joint, it looks like they should fit.

The calipers however, the locating holes on the hub look a lot wider, so my plan of using 283mm Xsara calipers has gone out the window

So perhaps C5 calipers would be the answer. BUT...LHM!

Are peugeot 407 calipers the same? Or can I rebuild C5 calipers with 407 seals designed for Brake Fluid not LHM

But of a wierd one, but all advice appreciated!

Thanks

The C5 has the parking brake on the front wheels and uses LDS mineral oil so the seals are of a different composition.

C5s use DOT4 brake fluid.
Only the suspension and steering are Citroen hydraulic and that system uses LDS, not LHM.

Sorry, so they do  I'm getting to old for this, and I've topped mine up too!
