I got taught to read (in 1972) using something called ITA - blinking useless - now i cant spell for a toffee! - Mike are you thinking of Mr. Spoon? wasnt he a baked bean tin?

Marty
The whole idea of ITA was flawed from the start - teach kids to spell the same language in a different way, then try to get them to un-learn it all to spell it correctly!
Mr Spoon - sounds familiar, but cannot place what programme he was on - the one I was referring to had a puppet for each of the vowels, but I can only remember Meg and Jim. There was another similar prog called Boff's Island, inhabied by the Boffins amd another tribe!

Only ever flew on G-BOAG. Worth every penny!

Totally agree, Tom - nothing quite like accelerating from rest to 250 mph in twenty-something seconds! And a deafening roar and 'hitting a brick wall' sensation when reverse thrust activated on landing. A thing of the past now, though. Ironically, much of the funding was from our money, but they didn't ask us if we wanted it scrapped; Branson could have made it profitable or at least tried to.

Right then. Is this a go go go for a northern meet up at the Airport? Shall we set a date and a show of hands for numbers?
Mr B

Hi Dave
I have just stuck my hand up!
I would prefer a Saturday lunchtime, if possible; 6, 13, 20 Nov free at the moment, but of course this is a moving target.

Any weekend in November APART from the 12/13th, it's the other half's birthday, and it'd be more than my life's worth [B)] if I miss it.
Also, if I could be back home before it got dark.... No, seriously, we tend to watch some ice-hockey on weekend evenings, so I may need permission to leave early [:D]
