In theory, yes ... but I'd be wary of those chinese models ... not because they're from china, but because there are possible HW differences regarding their cars ... here's one from Poland, price obviously much higher: http://www.ebay.pl/itm/Radio-RD45-CD-mp ... 1e93a35955" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

From what I gather from some translated Russian sites, all RD45's are made in China and are standard fit in their C5 (lots of Russians buying these RD45's from China) ? are Russian cars different to EU cars ?

The Russian C5s are like all the European C5s ... then give it a go, unless we find someone other who did the same change with the same chinese device and ask for his opinion, we won't know for sure whether or not it works as it should

Something worth bearing in mind when buying a radio intended for a different market is will it be compatible with UK radio frequencies, for example in the US FM radio frequencies end in an even number so a radio intended for the US cannot tune to a station in the UK.

Apparently RD45 has got usb-connection, so there's no need for separate box. What else? Would it need reprogramming with Lexia to change to this HU? Why three antenna connections??

If it is the same as the RT4/5/6 devices, one for the radio, one for the gps, and one for the cellphone reception ... from memory that is ... Dickie is correct about the frequencies, although I think the FM/AM standards are throughout Europe and Asia (mostly) ... I based my thinking on the SEDRE electrical documentation, where the C5 X7 (mostly Europe) is a separate car from the C5 X7 China version ...

I think the screen is the same as original. In the pictures it seems to be chinese, but specs say language is "english".

Please order and test! :P

BTW, I've got two antenna connections on my RD4. I'd think that there's no need for external bluetooth antenna. Is there a connection diagramm available somewhere? There seems to be also RD45's with only one antenna connection... And RD45 doesn't need antenna for phone, because there's no internal phone on that HU.

I've checked for the RT6, the three antennas are for the GPS, AM/FM1 & FM2 ...

WOW interesting! Mum has got an X7 Exclusive C5 with a crappy cd player only MP3 compatible, I was wondering this VERY same question!

If I was going to change though Id like one with Blue Tooth, as the steering wheel has the telephone button on it..

Has the RD45 / RT6 got bluetooth for Mobile connection in them???

RD45 is a Bluetooth radio, that is what we are thinking about. May well order one in a few weeks just to try...

Worried about the SEDRE and china wired cars however. It would be good to look at the diagrams to compare.

Radio frequency ranges are the same in Asia it seems. RDS may not work however, also/and RTX

I have a Bluetooth plug in on the way (fleabay) and I will see how that works when pluged into the box for AuX2.....but I will keep looking at the RD45....time to learn Russian !

For the RT6 you need a new screen, and a new plastic trim that covers it ... not cheap, but if you're like me and want to experiment, the best investment on the long run ... :D ... I'll go over some diagrams just to check the radio connections ... one thing that I've remembered Eu/China ... when you're accessing the DiagBox Instrument Panel Telecoding, it asks you if your car is driven in the country where it is legal to turn the DRLs off, and the second part before it lets you through to the options is if the car is China or other ...

RT6 would be nice, but to much work and $$ for me.
IF I was ever to change the plastic panel I would go with an after market 2x Din unit that lets me choose map supplier, but the point for me of looking at the RT45 is just to go Bluetooth with calls/music streaming.

It will be interesting to see what you find on the wires/china car aspect of the question. I cannot think it can be that different for radio fittings/wire if there is a standard at work (blocks/connections/size etc) world wide.

The SEDRE for the China C5 X7 shows just static images (those of you that use it will know what that means), no links to smaller modules/components/wires ... it seems there are only 2 available radio/gps units for the Chinese market, the RD45 and the RNEG, and at a glance, the diagrams are similar in case of the RD45 EU/China ...

I'd also think it would be a good idea to buy the "chinese" screen (don't know if they're any different) along with the radio, just to be on the safe side, i.e.:http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Citroen- ... 30591.html
