I’m sure he'll have no problem at all with it. The rear ram is a lot easier than the front to do...

It appears to be the leakoff pipe that is leaking so is it a case of just replacing that or do I do the whole ram off replace the collar, as explained on your web site.

That's the usual problem. The rubber spigot from the collar will be split and perished where the leakoff pipe joins.

Yes, it's a classic case for the collar repair...

If the car has been sitting for a while, try using it and putting up with the leak for a bit.

Mine always leaks in the Spring when I pull her out of the garage but when it warms up a little she settles in really nicely and stays dry.

Depends on how bug the leak is... If it drips it's a fail. if it's damp (weepy) but not dripping it should pass. Wipe it thoroughly just before the test...

:? The only other thing i can see wrong is the bonnet will not close properly. Is there normally room for adjustment on the hinges. David said he thought it was sprained but it all looks straight and seems to line up perfect when pushed down into place. :? :P

Hinges do have some range of adjustment but also the rubber bump stops on the slam panel are adjustable. Pop the rubber ends off and you'll find a bolt and locknut underneath...

The bonnet must close properly for the MOT.

:-D Bonnet all sorted. Got some part worn tyres on the vsx set of spare alloys. Tha Activa alloys will get a refurb on new tyres in the summer i think. Ready to go to the m.o.t man. The leak seems to have subsided. It was stood for 2 years round at dr.madvibe's place. If it does re-occur i will have to book it in at the garage of jim,if he doesn't mind. It would be great to meet the man who has been such a help not only with this Activa but also my old one. 8-) :-D :-D 8-)
