Xantia V6 Type Approval Number

Hi does anyone have the Type Approval umber for a 1999 Xantia V6 Exclusive Auto Saloon.?

This is the number starting with " e* "that should be on the V5 under the "K" category.

Also if anyone has the Variant and Version under "D2" THAT WOULD BE VERY USEFUL.

Hi Mark,

I've just looked at the V5C for my 1998 V6 and both the D2 and K fields are blank...

The only V5C in my possession with data in those fields is that for my little C1..

My 1999 V6 V5 also has these two sections empty - probably they are only used for something more special. All standard models would be Type Approved before released onto the market and therefore there would be no need to quote the TA number on the V5.

It may well be on service.citroen - have you got a VIN? Otherwise we could do a straw poll of a few Mk2s to see if the same number comes up.

Hi the VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].

First registered September 1999.

We are I France, I need the Type Approval number to get a CT and register it now, otherwise a big cheque to Citroen for an Attestation d'Conformite.

I've just checked the V5C for my 1997 S1 Xantia V6 and those fields are also blank.

I still have a copy I made of the original V5C that came with the car and they are blank there too - and as the previous owner was the original owner who registered the car when new, that means those fields were blank when the car was new...

I think that you find that the Xantia never had a European type approval, as it is too old.

It has a national approval for the market it was originally sold in, which you will find on the carte grise if it was french.

Otherwise you need to get a certificate of conformity from Citroen in the country where it was first registered (although Citroen France may be able to supply).

Not needed for a French-2-UK import, blank on my V5 issued this year.
