BX and Xantia sphere interchangeability

Hi

My Xantia's ( Xantia 2000 16V none hyderactive make year 2000 ) front spheres need to be replaced. For many year I used I.F.S.H. At the moment the spheres are not available. I.F.S.H catalogue number is XA 55 FC, what they to have in stock is BX 55 FC which are for Citroen BX. Does anyone know if these spheres are interchangeable ?

The quick answer is probably that nobody has tried or knows for sure.

Almost certainly the damper valves will be calibrated differently as the cars are very different in weight and probably use different diameter hydraulic rams as well...chances of getting a good result with the spheres from a completely different car are slim, and then you have wasted your money on something you can't use.

Are they just on back order or are they out of stock for a long time ? If so can you not source some from overseas ?

I sent an Email to IFHS and this is their answer:

"We advise NOT to interchange these 2 references of spheres as they have completely different specifications concerning damping module and volume."
