C5 hatchback tie down points

If I raise the suspension fully on a C5 and tie it down where are the tie down points or is it a case of just doing it on the wheels?

Transporting one on a trailer VERY soon so would like to know be sure as I've only done xantias before

Why fully raise the suspension ?

Will, if your flatbedding it I would put the suspension on low as it may sink during transportation and release the tension on the straps tying it down.

Good point guys. I was just thinking that the c5 wouldn't let it sink but would try and correct it and keep it up all the way.

On low though I still need tie down points

If you put it on low I would disconnect the battery afterwards (or remove the hydraulic pump relay) - last thing you want during the journey is for the suspension to attempt to break its bindings and escape!

When transporting a vehicle it is normal practice to tie down the wheels. There are special kits of ratchet straps for this. This keeps the wheels completely immobilised and firmly secured to the truck body, and allows the cars suspension to absorb any bumps transmitted through the truck suspension. This is what most recovery operators and as far as I see all new-car delivery operators do.

I've had a quick look and can't see those types of tie down straps for sale in Manchester
I need them for Monday otherwise I just have the normal machine mart tie down ratchet straps

There are Laws about straps and loads, be VERY aware that the Old Bill , esp the traffic boys think car trailers are easy tickets......and the often are

Looks like I won't have to worry about it now as the V6 has said it doesn't want to so towing duties!!! cheers for the advice though guys
