I hope it's pronounced santia as I've been saying it like that for 20 years!

I think it is supposed to be pronounced Ksantia - emphasising the 'X' as it is presumably Greek derived.

Yes I remember that one now! Linking in to car adverts made by comedians. There is no doubt that Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbert have produced some excellent comedy, but I am afraid that this effort for British Leyland must have been the low point of their careers. They surely couldn't have written the script....please..

I rather liked the spoof done by the "Not the Nine O'clock News" team. The new BL Ambassador, built by Roberts!

There was this one as well;

Out of habit I always say Z-antia.

The spell checker corrects Z+antia as so many were misspelling the name.

Towards the end of my Xantia days, referred to them as "that (-expletive removed-) thing", removing the need to worry about pronunciation. .

I like a bit of comedy, but were the robots building a vauxhall viva in the second clip?

Always worth an airing for me. Maybe he should have gone round the back and hit the petrol pump with a hammer this sometimes did the trick with my Mini.
