I think we need to get you some of Terry Pratchetts' armour, such as the bamboo breast plate from 'Snuff' or the dwarven micromail from 'Unseen Academicals'. The first wouldn't stop a blade, but was remarkable pliant so that it absorbed the impact well, while the second reflected the impact right back at the attacker (when Trevor Likely, who was wearing underwear made of it got kicked in the gonads all he felt was a slight breeze. His attacker, however, ended up curled in a 'private' universe of pain!).

Ahh, that’s all very well James but we must protect vulnerable bits with blocks. Armour and special underwear is not permitted although a 'box' is and is a good idea :)

It might be worth popping over to Reading, Jim. Network Rail (amongst others) are doing a major upgrade to Reading Station, and I believe that this includes replacing the tracks.

AFAIK guys you have to be licensed to scrap railway track. I have a small bit on order from a scrapman who is authorized to deal with it. Probably in case it gets re-used or something I suppose,or maybe to stop being stolen for scrap.

No, a real one by the sounds of it Simon!!!

A couple of yards of 113lb flatbed track will do just the job for my press!

Jim there are plenty of sections of unsecured line littered with cast off cuts. Pop by and lift some into the boot to cut at home and jobs a good en! might take 2 of you to lift it though, maybe 3 depending on length and have fun trying to cut it!

Having seen your post on facebook a few weeks ago I had to come on and see if this was true, it is, you really do have a C1! I never thought I would see the day that you were not powered by a V6 or TCT Citroen

I can see your reasoning, especially at the moment as with the new C1 out within the next few weeks, they have some hugely temping offers on the current C1. No doubt the ease of ownership, with it being a get in and go car, was a big decision maker.

I enjoyed our C1, as a town runabout it was superb and great fun to drive. Sure the suspension damping could be better and the road noise lower, but it all adds to the charm. The engine is a gem and really makes the car in my opinion, it loves revs and its gearbox is a joy to use. A brilliant little car and still one of the very best. You wouldn't want to use it for too many long runs but then that keeps your real Citroens in a job

Silver is an unusual colour, it was a cost option and with most C1s being the more basic spec, it wasn't a luxury many people seemed to go for.

I must dig out your XM for sale advert Jim, I've not been on here is ages now and I'm only going on the rumors ...

That's precisely it! And the economy!

One car has to go but both Xantias are staying. If you’re interested in the XM we can discuss in due course

Have you ever lifted rails, Will? I made a fence using 9' lengths of hundred pound rail as posts. It takes two fit blokes to drag these buggers along and stand them in the post-holes.
