The C1 does have a bit of 2CV/R4 about it though... And none the worse for it either...

Had a call from my dealer last evening. The replacement pipe for my V6 is on back-order and at least a couple of weeks away. Pavlos, you were lucky!!!

I "skinned" the return junctions and used regular oil/fuel hose with clips. Under the black plastic overmould are white barbed connections. Almost any broken harness can be reused this way.

I suggested a copper t piece made to the right size to replace the junction. That is the item fails the most so would remove the biggest failure point

Indeed Will, entirely reasonable and the reason I'm hanging on to the duff ones. They'll inevitably be NFP in the not too distant...

That can't be far off the original minis to be fair. I would how a two pot diesel would do in them as it would have enough torque with a turbo for that size of car, could crack 100mpg then and be rfl free for a good few years as well as the gov keeps bringing the threshold down...

IIRC the Daihatsu Charade diesel could do 100MPG on a tiny engine.

I'd expect it to be *way* better than an original Mini. They were from the days when 30mpg out of a 1.6 was acceptable. I hardly ever got 40mpg out of my Metro with the 1275cc and SU carb, and mini owning friends used to reckon 35-40mpg and no more. Horrific little cars. The guy I helped out after school in his garage when I was a kid was a Mini specialist. Put me off the bloody things for life. Hilarious to be a passenger in when they were being driven fast though.

Ah, my mistake. Yes, not far off. I think they were about 670kgs. Just think how much safer and better a C1 is, and only for an extra 100kgs or so..

I thought all small French cars either had to be powered by a tappety pushrod lump or the 1360cc inline 4?
