It will always be the same.
Any security system has to have a 'back door', in case of problems; and this will always be vulnerable to illegitimate exploitation.
The only answer is to make it too difficult / expensive for theives to bother.

Didn't Saab have an idea whereby they locked the gearbox into reverse. You had to unlock this before you could drive the car. It took over 10 minutes to drill out this lock.

Indeed they did and probably still have. Both my daughter's SAABs had it, as did all the SAABs I drove in Sweden.
Nice idea but the woman who bought her first one had broken her wrist and had a devil of a time releasing it.

Yes, all my 900s had this. Hmm. Problems encountered were crud filling the lock over time, and I lost the bloody keys once with it parked up against the garage door. Two days it was immobile for. Obviously couldn't use the other car that was in the garage....
