2002 laguna expression 1.9dci

Hi all,
can anyone please tell me if the above car would be a sensible buy as I have no experience of Renault diesels, anything I should be aware of, any help will be appreciated, thanks.

They are prone for the turbos failing due to long service intervals and listen for knocking from the rear suspension as there is a bush which fails, we had our laguna 2 1.9dci for well over 5yrs without any major issues but they can be a pig. What mileage /service history does it have and any receipts for any work done?

Hi Mark thanks for your reply, its done approx. 130,000 miles (speedo in km's) cam belt at 95,000 last service at 120,000 its lhd in France where I live and its a private sale at £1200 no service history to talk about, second hand cars over here are usually cuckoo land prices

I know that the cars are expensive in France. Hard to recommend a Laguna as lots have problems and yet others get great use from them. All the issues mentioned plus listen for gearbox noise from bearings. Great cars when on song.

I would buy one myself as I am a total chancer!
