C5 trip computer

Unread post by Crsdys »

Hi I've read over thirty threads and cannot make my mind up, should my citroen c5 2.0 hdi 2002 lx have a trip computer showing mpg and miles left in tank, at the moment it only shows time date temp and it has the over speed option, thanks in advance.

There was mention of it somewhere on here. I think you press on the end of one of the stalks?, but I have a feeling the lx spec didn't have the trip/mpg etc.
The thread wasn't about the trip computer specifically, but went a bit off topic and ended up there I think. Be a bugger to find it.

LX doesn't, SX and above do.

I believe that if you replace the display with an SX or higher spec one then you will get the additional features.

Correct, my friend has an LX with the larger SX display and all the extra functions fitted.

Also very easy to do, I had mine out to replace the bulbs and apart from the Traffic Master LED it is simple.

Mine tells me how many miles since fill-up, how many miles to next fill-up, How many MPG I'm getting since fill-up/trip, How many MPG I'm getting at this instant, what colour underpants I'm wearing, how many swear words I've uttered since I left the house, where my spare glasses are and what the wife is muttering under her breath as I drive.
Bloody good these computery thingies.

I managed to turn the feature on but it was in German so it wasn't funny.

I know of somebody who installed a trip computer into his car. He said it was one of the biggest mistakes he had made. His car kept falling over, even when it was parked

Yes, like 'pollution fault' 'ABs fault' and brake fluid low - when it isn't
