C5 X7 Brake Light Switch

Unread post by mooseshaver »

Hello. In chasing the intermittent cruise fault and an occasional auto not unlocking park I have had the brake light switch changed.
Does anyone know what the wiring loom is for that comes with it?
The switch has been fitted using existing loom and now I get abs, esp parking break hold faults, gearbox goes to some kind of default where the you can take your foot off accelerator and the revs drop to idle, and brakes feel very on and off rather than gradual. Bit like a manual C5 feels.
There are no faults logged on standard scanners.
Is this all likely because the supplied loom not used or something else?

Small update. Dealer supplied switch is faulty. Stuck in. Original back on for now and short test drive by garage it's working. Waiting for replacement.

Good result with the switch. Never assume a new part is perfect? Hopefully a new "working" switch will cure the other problems

I hope so. It's amazing what things require brake input. And how different the drive is.
Although despite abs and esp disabled the car still dealt with wheel spin as before.

Sorry not I. Mine is 2010. But I do notice there are some cracks in the right side of it. Just waiting for the day water gets in.

Yup.....water ingress, corroded the solid wire to circuit board connections, took apart and cobbled the connection, sealed up unit and saved myself £90.

Just remembered this....
