the car had its first proper test yesterday with a run upto my Brothers and back, i noticed on pulling out of a garage forecourt and making a little progress the clutch was a but slippy, and again as filtering onto the A30 from a slip road with a sharp bend, seems that under load just after the turbo boosts around 2800rpm through to 3200rpm it slips, not noticeable in 1st or 2nd, but is in third upwards, i wasn't initially too concerned as in 5th it slips at above the speed limit (tested on my very own private road of course!
before i fitted the clutch i wiped it down with Isopropyl alcohol on the friction plate and main housing, and also after cleaning the Years of old clutch dust off the flywheel wiped it over, however, it had sat fitted for a couple of days without the box on due to waiting for the bushes to arrive, i dont thing anything could have got at it,
now one thought i had is that i may have got a little grease/dirt on it during fitting?? i know i tried my best hot too, but its possible, another is that the flywheel may be a bit goosed?? obviously i dont want to have to take the box off if i can help it (if the chance itrs the flywheel then obviously it'll have to come off) but one thought i had, and i dont know if it would help at all but, If i was to pop it up on stands, drop it in gear and pour some IPA down through the gap in the casing on the box (the one on top thats covered with a bit of tape) to try and clean it whilst its spinning round??
any tips, pointers or suggestions gratefully recieved, lost a little confidence in it again after the brief hiatus of fixed it joy!
