2003 Clio UCH removal

Unread post by ashy90 »

Has anyone removed a UCH control module from a Clio before? Tried to remove it on a mates 2003/03 Clio DCi, removed the bracket, unplugged the connectors and removed ritz screw behind fuse box cover, but it seems there are some wires going in to the TOP of the UCH which are fixed, is this right?

If so how on earth to you remove it?

Had another look today in the light. The cables that I first thought were wired in to the top of the UCH unit, were in fact going to some relays - which were mounted in a bracket and clipped to the UCH unit.

Car is not starting - supposedly the leak from the sunroof got in to the UCH unit and and stopped the car from starting. A mechanic took the unit out, dried it and it worked.....until the next morning. I have tried everything - checked all the fuses, swapped relays, inspected wiring, removed the UCH and opened it up - it was dry, but took the hair dryer to it anyway. Took the hair dryer to any plugs/connections, inspected the earths. Still it just cranks for a couple of seconds and then stops (as if you let go of the key).
