Well done! If you have the time, use Plus Gas over a few days to help loosen off the rust (for the next jobs you have to do). You can get Plus Gas from ECP (but wait until Malcolm sees this, he will probably suggest it is fake :-D :-D ! Mind you, with his experience of ECP I don't blame him; I would if I had had those problems!)

I haven't (yet) had any issues with ECP (OK, a set of parts I ordered was incomplete, but that was spotted by both myself and their guy before I left the counter, and a replacement set was received the following day. He checked it as soon as it came in, as he didn't want a repeat problem, he told me.), but I do know they stock Plus Gas.

You could always try GSF for parts. There is one in Swindon;

The problem is that some places (not always companies) think they can rip off gullible people and not get caught. When I was younger I loved going with my Mum to get parts for her car (an old Pug 504 estate, K reg). They would talk utter tripe, and try and charge astronomical prices (because she was a woman, and won't know any better!). Then she would explain to them what she needed, why she needed it, how she would fit it, and how much she SHOULD pay (not the pie-in-the-sky prices quoted). She was a qualified mechanic! She now lives on a narrow boat, with a 1.9 BMC narrow head diesel engine, which she services herself (OK, when the head gasket needed replacing she called in a boat engine specialist who DIDN'T cost the earth, but there are times we all need outside help).
