i am trying to convert a CVS file to a VCF

i dropped my Galaxy S2 19100 on Saturday which cracked the screen, now i cant access the phone as it requires a pattern unlock key,

most of my contacts are stored by Orange back up, even though i kept switching it off when every i spotted it running,

we have found the ones orange had saved,

now the problem is the orible Nokia X6 om using as a stand in brick uses VCF, and the contacts stored by Orange are in CVS,

the other question is does anyone know how to unlock a Galaxy S2 with a cracked screen/no touch screen functions working

No idea about the unlock Malc, but a man of your talents should be able to get a fit a new screen from eBay quickly enough. I managed it with my old HTC so you should have no problems.

i am lookung out for either a complete phone that died of different to my, or a complete front, screen, digitizer and LCD,

as im not sure how much is damaged,

the display does not come up at all,

and the way the display went down looked to me as the LCD slowly died,

Have you checked to see if your contacts were backed up to google? If so, can you get a gmail app for the X6 that will sync contacts?

i'm assuming you have a 'pattern lock' rather than std password phrase?? does the desktop software allow for a full back up whilst locked?? i know the blackberry ones do as you can unlock it form the software, they also have a 'Device swap' section that copies All the contacts etc. and plaes them in a folder with the phone's pin on the computer, Not having had an HTC i have no idea if the comp[uter software allows this?
there is a way to do it via google but, you need the phone to do it, Do you know when the Orange back up takes place?? if its set daily for example, may be worth leaving it go and checking afterwards, hopefully it'll pick it up,

ive replaced a screen for a friend on an old HTC, with a small margin of success, the inner tabs that hold the ribbons in had split so only half the screen function worked, in this case, it lit up but had no touch, ive done a few on the blackberry's over the years, and most often there are Very detailed walk through's on line available for them, i bought the screens from ebay via uk sellers after one in the early touch screen days coming from china broken, unsurprising really!! normally sub £20

but this is a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT19100 not a HTC,

and most sellers seem to be charging an arm and six legs for the complete front end of the phone, screen, digitizer and LCD,

also it seems Orange have shut down there back up service as they had to many complaints about it

fixed me Galaxy S2 now,

bought a new Genuine???? ) front end the seller assures me it is a Genuine Samsung part,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171321261458? ... 1439.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

but when it turned up it was not in/with the box/packaging in the photo,

on asking the seller to confirm it is genuine, he says he does not send them out in the original packaging as it is only thin paper???????

anyhow i fitted it this morning and it all seems to work fine

Well done Malcolm :-D I know it's not an easy job at all. Is this now going to be a new line of business? Malc's Smartphone Repairs?

You can use the tagline "I can fix your car and your 'phone too!"

Malcolm, now you have got your phone fixed you might want to download and use Samsung Kies software, so you can backup your phone;
