C5 digital air con?? does it have it??

The handbook says the car will have either the eco button,which mine has,or an aircon button where the eco button is....what I want to know is,does this mean the car has aircon or not? if it does,how does it work?? The lowest temp will go is 16 and max 28, if I put it on 16,does that mean aircon will be on?? I don't honestly understand how it works cos it's dual control,so,if I wanted my aircon on, and passenger wanted heating,how does it work?? if i press auto,just the windscreen and feet symbol light up on the display........if someone could explain how this works i would be grateful, like do i use the auto for aircon (if it does have it?) the eco button I presume,switches aircon off?? I don't know,even looking in the book?? thanks for any help with this......

Yes, you have air con and providing it still works it will be running all of the time the Eco button is not illuminated. Being a 52 reg yours should have the Eco button rather than the snowflake symbol. The C5 is really designed to have the air con on all of the time, as that is said to bring the best interior comfort, with heater on hot or cold. Usually you would just hit auto and set the temp where you want it, if you want to save a pinch of fuel then hit Eco to turn off the ac.

Dual control means you will get a temperature difference of a couple of degrees between driver and passenger vents. Certainly not one hot and one cold.

That's dual zone heating which you will have if there are two temperature controls - very good when it works properly, mine has a mind of its own, the drivers side works fine but the passenger side very often comes full on and you cant turn it down and on the occasions it does work the temperature display will change randomly. This is an unfortunate problem as I am always cold and my wife hot.

dual C on mine gives exactly that Qpr.. I can get hot air from my vent and cool, cold from the passenger..was useful (ish) on Saturday,.

mine is same as yours deano.. you will know AC is on as you will feel it slow engine when you press auto button..

That thought had crossed my mind but I don't like being driven, I was doing around 30k per year when I was working and am happier in the driving seat. I particularly bought it with that feature because of our different heat requirements - I could repair it I suppose

Sure you could replace the mixer flap motor drivers with a fabulous array of valves on the dash top.

If it were possible ... Got into it today and its working fine, blowing cold air on me from the passenger side, I had to turn it up, which also worked. Its only just above freezing outside
