Citroen C5 2.2HDi Exclusive SE - sell or break??

My C5 has (for me ) come to the end of the road!
Has been a damn good car however the list to repair is grown too expensive.

Bad bits:

Slipping Clutch
Creaking from Rear Suspension
Rear Wiper occasionally wipes
Rear demist


Good Bits:

Everything else!!

The car is a 2003 reg (2004 model) and is absolutely fully loaded inc Sat Nav & HFT - cannot think of anything missing!

My dilemma is: sell or break??

anyone want an SE for spares or repair or does anyone need any parts for their own??
Engine and box good and strong - clutch not!
Full beige leather interior etc etc.................

Sadly the reality is that you can probably buy another one for the cost of the repairs unless you are going to do them yourself. The cost of the clutch and DMF parts only is probably in the region of £500.00 and changing the radius arm bearings is not an easy task, I know I have recently done mine. although the parts are not all that dear.

I bought my first C5 estate which was a 2.2 for £300.00, it had a few faults but nothing I couldn't fix, it was a nice car but dreadful on fuel so I sold it and bought a 2.0. which is about 50% better. That one I paid £550.00 for but it needed some work including I discovered the suspension bearings and a HP fuel pump. I did this work for about £200.00 in total but if I had to pay it would have been over £1000.00.

I have seen some pretty good SX estates on ebay for £600-700, I think I sold mine for £600. There are some fancy prices being asked but if you buy by auction that's about the price they make, this is for a Mk1 of course. I would have no hesitation in buying another from ebay especially with the experience I have gained from my first two. I always used to do this with XMs - when they were still cheap and readily available.

if you have the space and time break it as you will make more money that way but it may take longer than a sale.

sounds like it may be a common fault. I have a 2.2 hdi also with noisy rear suspension.....and rear wiper was removed for mot because it didn't work....

Shame Andy..

quite sure my 2.0 suspension has gone... is there a way to tell for sure, without removal and inspection - anyone?

If you break, there are a couple of things I could do with.. what colour is car?

If it was only the suspension I would say do it, especially if you can do it yourself, probably won't cost £100, but with the clutch as well its not really economic.
