Had a different car in last evening - a Honda S2000. Very desirable and a car I could love a lot..

It belongs to a work colleague who camps down here during the week and returns home a long way away at weekends. It had a graunching a the back due to worn disc pads and there was no way it was going home without being done.

Owner procured a set of cheap pads for a tenner and we set to work. The caliper and piston were well seized on the bad side and getting the piston to retract was a real struggle. Much WFA profanity eventually got it moving but we'd have never done it without the use of a pukka caliper wind-back tool and a beaker bar on the end of it! I thank my lucky starts that a visitor a few weeks ago left a wind-back tool here - it truly saved the day

The other side was a doodle in comparison and we could almost have wound the piston back by hand!

We went for a spin in it afterwards. It's one cool car with a 9,000 rpm redline

A good test for me. I was up late and working. Ended up going top bed at 10:30 but was still up at 04:00 this morning and quite perky

Good work Jim. Those backwards revving engines are lovely, not much torque but plenty of pickup once the cam kicks in

Don't push your bedtime too much Jim as it could leave you totally shattered in a few days, baby steps remember

Hope your work colleague has a good tent as it must be pretty chilly outside these days

The BX Club stand was lovely and that's given me an idea. How about an FCF/Club-XM stand next year?

Bought an H Van Only a Norev model though. Picked up a few tools and got very interested in high-end welders...

Done the insurance for another year. Just one change. The Xantia V6 and XM are on my Multi-Car Policy and the Activa has gone over to a limited mileage classic policy. Sense really as the Activa does very few miles.

I was going to SORN the Activa but for what I'd save it was not worth it plus if I want to take it for a spin on a nice winter day I can.

So, in doing all my cars plus those of the girls I've just shelled out the best part of two grand

Robyn promises she's going to pay me for her share but how can I take it from her? She starts Uni again in January and is going to need every penny...

Still, it's the thought that counts...

I'm so poor now I'm forced to make my own marmalade - just made a batch of clementine and lime and it's delicious. Citrus fruit are very cheap at the moment so it makes sense to buy a few and preserve them...
