MOT & suspension

Unread post by shiney »

As posted here earlier the suspension is lumpy and I think new spheres are needed. I want to have a go at this myself but ca'nt do till 4 weeks time.
MOT due next week: is it likely to fail on the bumpy ride?!

Probably not. (Otherwise all other cars would fail every year;-))

Some of the more savvy MOT testers who understand Citroen suspension will bounce each end and fail it if its too firm, but the majority don't seem to care as long as it goes up and down ok and its not p***ing fluid everywhere.

I have mine MOT`ed at the council garage. All that my tester does is put the car to full height with the engine running. Then checks that it doesn`t drop/sinks,then for leaks. Then the engine is turned off,(on full height)same process again.Provided it doesn`t have any major leaks,or the suspension doesn`t drop/sink(on full height)then its ok.
