HELP hand break cable snapped xantia 1.9td 95

I parked my car up. Head a niose when i put my hand break on. It went right up to the top.
Got back from work. Jacked the car up. The passenger side frunt handbreak cable snapped.
Do they still make the parts. Is it do able. Anyone got any break cable set. Or is it time to give in.
Sods law it is Got my breakes done. Was going to get the welding sorted. Found a grauge for 60 to 70 pound. The car was nearly getting there.
And now this

ANY good Indy should STILL be able to get the cables..

However, known as a secondry brake cable... part number 4712 17 its still down as availabe from Dealer!

The secondary handbrake cables are usually around £15 each. They are not difficult to do, just a bit fiddly. I would do them both at the same time, as you will have the front of the car up anyway.

MAKE SURE the car is aduqetly supported!!!!

and the cable goes down the correct route and throught the correct guide loops!

And make sure the outer sleeving is correctly placed to allow the inner sleeving to move freely, otherwise you will be doing the same job in a couple of years' time.

The thing is we are having problems with rounded off screws bolts. Like when we bleed the breaks did all 3 apart from one. Couldnt get it off. Today my brother tryed to adjust the working cable. He smashed is eye brown. Cos he couldnt move the screw. Its still bleeding now might have to have stitches.
Im slowly giving up basically.
Knowing are luck we might have upset the cables when doing the breaks.
Luckly i have 3 days off this week plus the weekend.
Looked in the book the job seems right pig todo.

Oddly the handbrake cables on a Xantia are one job that looks fiendish, but in fact are relatively easy. I put off doing them on my TD for this reason, but then when the MOT man said I had to I managed it in an hour - and that included jacking the Visa off the axle stands!! Get both the cables, and you won't need to worry about the seized adjuster on the other side.

where abouts are you bet you are miles away.
The cable what snapped was on the front breaks. for the handbrake Just took the wheel off and there it was hanging

ummmm yep a tiny bit to far lol
am so tempted to drive it till the end of mot in January then just scrap it. Is it really worth it. Cost me 300 pound lasted for bout a year and 6 months. Now started having problems. But got all new breaks discs pads. The welding was going to be 60 pound. Prob need save up for some decent tyers. Or good part worn ones. Need get drivers door sorted. Opening from the outside not inside . And some new sphears at the back.

What would you guys do if it was me.
Bet if i took it in to my indy bullwinkles. It will cost a bomb todo. Because of time

Thats how our xantia numbers dwindle so easyilly.. bought cheap not worth repair throw away and we wonder where they have all gone.. not a nice way to talk amoungst enthusiests fourm i dont think... but thats me. Id repair anything given the time.

Just that time is not that good and money not that good. Need a car for work. Drive 40 miles aday. Like a say it been superb. But just lately. I get one thing sorted see another thing what might needs doing Then something else goes wrong on it. Then that needs doing.
