Alive and kicking?

Post by bikeboyz »

Surfing the net, like we do from time to time has discovered some real unheard of? productions for example
Citroen ZX is built in China with a saloon boot, not hatch called the Fukang 988 (carefull how you say that one!) and there is also the ZX cube van too.
Citroen Axel...MK1 Visa to you and me
Proton Tiara...without sounding to camp, its an AX with a Mitsubishi type face to it
Wuling LZW, a Citroen Visa, with the 3 cyclinder Daihatsu engine from the Charade found in China.
Citroen Elysee, a 4 door saloon ZX with Xantia type grill and interior.
Peugeot 405, well still is the 405 and rolling off the production line in Iran.
Peugeot Pars, another Iranian Peugeot a cross between 405 and 406 in style
Peugeot RD, a rear wheel drive 405 rolling off the production line again in Iran
Peugeot 504, is still 504 and being built in Kenya.
Any more anybody?

The Axel is not quite a Visa - it has a version of the aircooled flat four in it, as does/did the Oltcit

I was in Prague earlier this year for a stag do and I saw a number of axel's. Dont understand why Citroen made them. They say they were cheaper but surely a lot of it was standard visa and they had to develope a new body shell as they were all 3 door and the visa was only 5? French!
