Hi in middle of replacing fuel pump looking for a diagram or layout of lhm pump so can see which way and where washers go to space etc as when you slide long bolt through hole in lhm pump pulley the body is narrower than slot it sits in so just working out so it will sit in line for belt to run properly as BOL isn't a great help either.
Also whats the best method to stopping bottom pulley turing as think going to take main crank pulley off to check as other woodruff keys gone AWOL so want to make sure not down there!
Found a locking tool from laser on flea bay £9 do you have to remove starter motor to use looks like a piece of starter ring with a tab to bolt to something. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200824486045? ... 1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Layout/diagrams
It could be useful to say what the vehicle is, so as to get the right pump details.

Under the car there's a plate on the bottom of the bell housing, take that off and your tool fits into the teeth of the flywheel and bolts with the bell housing bolt to lock the crankshaft

Re:
The reason i asked was my friend likes to leave me bits on top of wings/headlights etc so fall off/move and have the long bolt for lhm pump and a washer that has a big hole which fits on bolt over taper upto the head was wondering if i was correct in placing it there and if any or where go on other end of bolt.addo wrote:The clue is in the parts - the factory diagrams are often inaccurate.
The bolts pass through a two piece collet and nut setup. It's designed so the collet expands when the bolt/nut is tightened, locking it into place within its sliding range.
Plus a picture/diagram of area would remind/refresh me etc on where bits go as have a few other things im doing so not %100 onit and just want to get it finished now
