LT71141 ATF from ebay?

Unread post by Stempy »

Anyone used this? Or should I stick to the stuff from the dealers?

That's not genuine LT71141 Stempy... The pukka stuff is only made by Esso/Mobil...

They give the ganme away in the description:
Multifunctional Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) for automatic gearboxes and all other ATF-Type DEXRON III applications in cars, vans, trucks, buses, tractors, construction and industrial machinery.
LT71141 is not Dexron III compatible and is never mentioned in the same sentence.

This stuff is just generic Dexron III and nothing else..

Use it and kiss your box goodbye

Opie Oils often have a good deal on LT. Ask Mandrake who has a standing order with them for the stuff. His milkman delivers it with the daily pinta..

lol. Perhaps I should get Simon to send me the stuff he drains out and put it through an LHM filter.

I suspected that would be the case, if it seems too good to be true....... I'll probably get a couple of 2 litre bottles from the local dealer and I have a bit left over in the garage from the old Xantia days.

Haha very funny guys

Check opie oils website daily in the last 2-3 days of the month Stempy, they usually seem to have a 20% discount on the last working day of the month... Normal price is about £10 per litre from them for 1 litre bottles so the discounted price is a good deal.

Opie generally do a 20% off everything deal at the end of the month, so is probably worth holding off a few days :)

Sounds like a plan. What do the stealers charge for the two litre bottles now? Last time I bought some it was about £15 I think.

£12.46 a litre, so about 50% more expensive than Opie when they do the 20% off.

Well I just took a delivery of a case of Opie Oils finest LT. It came with a complimentary air freshener but I'm a bit afraid to open it in case it smells of cat pee.
