Has there ever been a more hidden car than the C6 ?

Post by onthecut »

I don't read the motoring press overmuch and only spotted the other day that the C6 is no more. It set me thinking that whoever does Citroen marketing, pricing and strategy really should be sacked. Barely advertised in the UK, overpriced, not particularly quick, not particularly economical; no estate --- was it just meant for sale to some secret society ? Sales figures, as I understand it, were laughably low compared to the XM, which itself was derided as a flop.

Much as I like the look of the C6, I'm afraid buying one has gone right off my wish list, as with such tiny sales I suspect the parts situation is going to be hopeless in very short order, for anything peculiar to it.

I was reminded of the Nissan QX when I read this. I recall reading something along the lines of "disappears without trace from showroom, never to be seen again for a few years. On re-materialization check xyz"

Cannot remember what it said to check usual stuff I expect.

Similar could (maybe?) be said for the 605/607...

Plenty of 605s sold on the Continent. Not so sure on the 607.
