I have just discovered that my fast idle valve is faulty. The revs have been high for a while now but the valve appeared to work correctly (when cold!). When I checked it this afternoon, after the car had been for a run, it did not work. As it cooled down it worked, on the bench, again for a while then stopped working again. From memory the ERG solenoid resistance was about 27 ohms whilst the non-working fast idle solenoid was about 370 ohms.
I have read that these valves are very expensive from Citroen (about £30) but that they may be cheaper from a Peugeot dealer. Does anybody have the Peugeot part number (and for the EGR valve as I might as well replece the pair) and price?
Alternatively is there another source of supply or an alternative part?
Regards
Richard
