Xantia Tyres

Unread post by Taffyrhys »

Hi all

I want to fit my own tyres and was wondering if anybody knows of a good online site to order a set of 185 65 15 Tyres.

Have a great weekend in the sunshine :-D :-D :-D :-D

Cheers

Black Circles, MyTyres and Oponeo all seem to receive decent comments from customers.
Never used any of them personally but do know people who have and have been more than satisfied.

I recently used black circles to find somewhere that could balance centreless rims for my Xantia, found somewhere local that was specifically listed as being able to, phoned to make an appointment, asked if they could balance centreless rims, was told yes by the flunky in the office, arrived a few days later, asked the mechanic if they could indeed balance centreless rims, "sorry mate, our machine can't balance that kind of rim, it doesn't have the adaptor". #-o

So watch out if you have centreless rims, don't necessarily believe what the black circles website says, phone and speak to someone that will actually be doing the job...

I would seriously suggest looking round your local non-national chains of tyre fitters and getting prices from them. In my experience, Blackcircles/Mytyres are considerably more expensive than my local place - and a couple of other places I've used that are local to family up North, and a lot less convenient.

As an example, I needed 4 tyres for an Impreza a few months ago. BlackCircles were £22 per tyre dearer, for the same Avon tyre than my local place was. They were £14 per tyre dearer for the Kumho I had fitted to the Berlingo spare recently. Just because it's online doesn't mean it's cheaper any more. It used to be the case, but it's not now.

Kwik-fit, National, ATS will always overcharge, but look at the smaller independent places before you go online.

I find good ones holding down the sheeting on my local farms silage,
part used granted, cheaper than buying new, just have to watch yourself if it's been raining.
The world is full of them and a lot are in

Type the size in on ebay then select under options: price lowest first. Should give you lots to choose from.

I have found http://www.valuetyres.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to be among the cheapest place for tyres. Oponeo, mytyres and Blackcircles are good alternatives but I have noticed them getting more expensive.

Hi all well if your going two or even better four tyres why not go to 195/65/15 cheaper to buy than 185's plus have more choice of tyres.pug's use 195 plus zafira's rover 600's etc brings speedo correct(gps'sed it)
Plus at the mo have some have some with very little wear i just have to take them off the rims as he wants rims back so will have 3 or 4 as keeping one or 2 my self.
