Quick question, are you sure you're using the height control lever correctly?

The lever should be at the thicker of the two white lines in normal driving. One of the lines in the middle, but the one closest to the front of the car. The one further back would sit as high as you describe.

Worth checking!

A valid point indeed!!!! But mine is set on the thicker of the two lines :(

I have, yes. I was just trying to get an idea where/what I'd be looking for. I have no ramps available (yet) to even look at the underside to try and establish the route of the control rods etc.

I'm determined to sort this thing out sooner or later though =D>

Get yourself a couple of ramps or axel stands - NEVER EVER crawl under your car without proper support - if you have the car in "high" position and a pipe breaks - you will be very flat :-?

Is there any DIY-garage nearby?

Whe you get round to sorting out the height, the car must be bearing its weight on the wheels, so as to allow the correction to happen. Don't do it on axle stands, the suspension system needs to pressurised on both sides for it to work. You need to use ramps, or a workshop pit, or a lift that raises the car on its' wheels (not by its' jacking points).

The front height corrector mounted on the back of the front sub frame. It is simple to adjust (but time consuming), and there are clear instructions on what to do on this forum.

A roughly check if the car height is "normal"

Measure the distance from ground to wheel arc in "low" position.
Raise the car to max and measure again.

The "normal" height should be about half the distance between min and max - set the car to normal ride, measure the distance and compare it to the "calculated" distance.
