Hi gang,
My series 1 1.9 diesel wouldn't start today, so I jump started it. Unfortunately this caused the alarm to start going off. The siren was silenced but the headlights keep flashing for about 30 seconds whenever I open the door. I don't have an alarm fob, just a key. Is there any fuse I can just pull out?
Regards,
Tim

There's an alarm cancel button on the dash - to the right of steering wheel, speaker with a cross through it. Lock the car, open the door, put the key in, hold the button down, and turn the ignition on, then release the button (all within 30s of unlocking the door) should re-set the alarm)

Phew, I thought the answer would include a new ECU for £850 from Citroen or something. Ta for the info!
While we are on the subject of alarms, My 2001 S2 doesn't seem to have an alarm fitted at all. Is that right?

Well, Gracie does have an alarm (and she like to exercise it every so often, dammit!), and she is a 2000 S2.

James, you know you can read the last 10 or so alarm activates on the Lexia on an S2 and see what caused them?Hell Razor5543 wrote:Well, Gracie does have an alarm (and she like to exercise it every so often, dammit!), and she is a 2000 S2.
That may help narrow it down - almost certain to be your ultrasonics...

In case you don't know, on the S1, you can pair up any keyfob plipper with any car (no equipment needed), so if you can aquire a second had plip from somewhere...lankytim wrote:Hi gang,

Jim, I will have a look at Gracies' alarm, once I have got Royal Ascot out of the way. Great fun, but bloody hard work at times! Still, I wouldn't miss it.

ALL S2 cars have an alarm, but the procedure and setup differed!
Try this to answer your Q Tim (S2 car).. Open your window, lock your car WITH your PLIPPER .. then reach in the car and open the door, and the alarm should go off!
The good thing about S2 cars is theres no need to cancel the alarm after a battery connect .. they sort them selfs out.

No need to even reach through the window, unlock the door with the key and open it and it will go off, making the spare key a bit worthless...citroenxm wrote: Try this to answer your Q Tim (S2 car).. Re: S1 Xantia, alarm problems....
I'll give that a try to see if anything happens, I'm not hopeful though as there's no sign of an alarm, no key cut off under the bonnet, no sensors inside the interior and no alarm cancel button on the dash
My Xantia was registered in Northern Ireland, but surely that would make it the same as a regular U.K car?

Re: S1 Xantia, alarm problems....
S2 alarms do not have a key cut off under the bonnet. It was deleted. There should be a red led that blinks of the drivers door and little ultra sonic sensors on both doors
