Siver indicator bulbs not bright enough?

Post by Fake Concern »

Anyone with Sivertec/Silvervision etc indicator bulbs found they are not bright enough?
I happened to be standing behind my car as I locked it today & as the indicators flashed, I could hardly believe how dim they looked. I replaced the original rear lights on my C4 VTS with facelift lights & they came with the silver bulbs fitted. If you have put this type of bulb in, what make did you use & were they bright?
Photo sort of shows problem

Can you give me the link to them please? I may get some to try on my daughters Clio & if they are good, get them for mine. The ones I have seem so dim, I shall put them back to standard for the MOT next month.

And thanks!

I most likely won't be doing anything to the car for a few weeks as I'm so busy at work at the moment and also my sister is visiting from New Zealand.

I'm still ticking on about this! I found some old orange bulbs & fitted them. In this picture you can see why I was concerned they weren't bright enough. (one silver one orange)

Also can Davey or Rory remember if this was the bulb you used as I don't want to get the same one again?

Gosh, what a difference..

I guess the dim ones you have are OEM BMW, Audi and Mercedes bulbs and maybe this is why the drivers of aforesaid vehicles never seem to indicate...

Ha ha ha! So true!

Thanks for that link, same as Rory, so I feel pretty safe ordering them for my VTS & daughter #2's Clio.

The bit of the glass that I see seems a lot darker than mine are going from memory, I'll try to take one out and post a pic of it to compare.

There isn't a makers name on mine. All they have stamped on them is 12V 21W. As it looks like the one in your photo says Ultra PY21W I'm sure it isn't the case but they are 12v bulbs and not for a higher voltage?
