Pre XUD PSA Diesel engines

Where can I find out more about the pre-XUD diesel engine era for PSA ?

I think I'm asking about what was fitted to say the 204 (looks quite nice although I've never seen one on the road) and say 604 / 504 ranges.

You need to be looking for information on the Indenor engine. It was made in 1.9; 2.3 and 2.5 sizes. Not only did Peugeot use in in the 304; 404 and 504 but they sold it for use in many other makes. I had one fitted in a 1980 Ford Sierra since at the time Ford didn't have any diesel engines of their own.

I did consider a search for a used BOL for a 505/504/Sierra or suchlike but decided against it at the moment.

Reading this thread has reminded me that I used to have a mk2 Granada diesel with a Peugeot engine, a 2.1 IIRC.
Not the most reliable car I've ever owned.
