Movement on Turbo vacuum rod on 2.2 hdi c5
Morning all could anybody tell me how much movement there should be on the rod that controls the turbo vanes as i think mine is stuck and is the best way to get at it from underneath the car thanks in advance Ian

I would say approx 15mm when I was messing with mine and yes to remove turbo from underneath, would be hard without being on ramps.

Cheers i was going to see how much it moved by using a pair of long nose pliers reaching up from underneath I dont have a ramp so i will jack it up as high as I can get and crawl under for a look see

Been underneath the car all morning checked the rod for movement and it seemed to be ok i connected a piece of vacuum hose to it and applied a vacuum to it and it seemed to move in and out freely enough so now i am completely at a loss as to what is causing this loss of boost pressure,while i was at it i replaced a few of the jubilee clips on the intercooler hoses just in case and i did a oil and filter change just for good measure,just wish I could crack this as it has just sailed through its MOT with no problems so i will have to put up with an underpowered 2,2 for another year
