Xantia Key Fob Programing

Can i use a second hand key fob and can it be reprogrammed? my remote locking used to work but no longer and second hand key should be cheap fix if it works.

Series 1 infrared remote ? Yes you can definitely reprogram a 2nd hand remote for you car, and you don't need anything special like a Lexia to program it.

Series 2 RF remote ? Maybe, maybe not. The C5 RF remotes can't be reprogrammed to another car but I have not seen a definitive answer to whether a Series 2 Xantia RF remote can be. If it is possible it will require Lexia access as there is a remote programming procedure in the Lexia.

Xantia Series 2 RF remotes can be reprogrammed using a Lexia, I have reprogrammed a 2nd hand one to my car very successfully.

Thanks for the info, I'll get one end give it a go. Oh, and it's a S2. So I'll have to find someone with a Lexia.
