I'm not going overboard with stickers, these ones were only £10 off e-bay, one r is a bit torn, asked seller for another r and put it on. Undecided if I'm going to do wheels black, considering the idea. Also considering tinting rear windows, but not Limo black, maybe a dark smoke. I need to get a price for that before I do it. Then DLR's on the front and thats it finished, apart from induction kit,,,,,,,,,,,,,etc LOL

I agree no more stickers or could look over done. At £10 they were a bit of a bargain. I have to say I've toyed with doing my wheels black & I may well do in the summer. I'm not a fan of dark windows, the 2 back windows are already as dark as I would want to go. I decided not to go for an induction kit & have a Pipercross panel. On my old one I had a BMC panel, which was much louder, this sounds standard.

The car is now as quiet as it's ever been since I got it. It,s a bodge, but I see no reason how it wont last a long time. The guy 3 floors above me is restoring an old escort RS Turbo, it lives 3 lock-ups up from mine. I got speaking to him, and his job is in a garage, doing lots of exhausts, tyres etc. He says Really nice motor, what have u done to make it sound like that!!!!!!!!!! Was surprised when I said nothing, exhaust snapped LOL Out came the ramps, up went the car and exhaust completely off about 10 mins later. He was welding his escort before that. Into his lock up out came a piece of exhaust pipe. It fitted inside the pipe of my back box like a glove, cut off the excess, leaving about 2" extra. Weld round it. Grinder, two slots made in the end of the middle section, exhaust put back on, U clamp round the slots,,,,,,,SORTED. About an hour of time and some beer tokens. Rest of exhaust is like new, so hopefully this superbodge will work, saving me lots of money!!!!

The Rs turbo he's restoring is an E reg genuine one, not a madeup one. It's totally stripped to the bare shell, It's getting new front wings, sills, rear arches, scuttle panel, front crossmember, part of he floor. So theres not going to be a lot of the original shell left! Its a labour of love for him. Another day welding he says, then prep and paint shop, and he's hoping to have it running for summer. Then it will only be out when the sun is out. He'll get one go in it a year up here then

I think I'm going to leave the wheels as they are. The silver/grey stickers are near enough the same colour as the wheels. That one does look good though, but I dont like his carbon wrap on the mirrors, and undecided about his chrome bits on the front done black. Still wondering how to get the back lights showing less red, so would like to know how he did the front ones.

There's an RS Turbo that lives a short distance from me. It's been restored to concours and you only ever see it out of its garage when the sun shines and then only for the owner to polish it!!! To look at it you see something that looks like it's just rolled off the production line - it even has all the right tie-on labels hanging from things...

A real family of petrolheads. The lady of the house has recently traded her Evo in for the latest fast Focus in lurid green and the son is deeply into Toyota Glanzas...

It only comes out in the sun Jim otherwise it would dissolve . I drove an S2 RS Turbo years ago as I was offered a swap for my Bx16v at the time , suffice to say I didn't get it as it wasn't a patch on the Bx .

I user to have an A reg astra mk1 1.6sri, I traded it for a b reg escort 1.6 gl, only because of the arrival of daughter no1, and astra was 3 door and escort was 5 door. Big mistake. I think that escort was the worst motor I ever owned. It got traded after 3 months, losing money for b reg cavalier 1.8 sri. In those days vauxhall made far better cars than now. I did have a mate with a rs turbo, It had power and was exciting but I didn't like it. At that point I had never had a french car, but thats what followed the cavalier. Dot to buying a house sold the cav and went back the years and has a renault 18. Defected to rover after that, no 1/2 measures, SD1 3.5 V8 vitesse! Thats the one car that I wish I still had. Lovely car, horrible running costs, but wasn't too worried as I was making good money then. The bad thing was, because of a wife wanting to learn to drive the rover went, replaced by a Maestro 1.6. Needless to say,,,,,,,not well liked by me. Then went french again, ford again????? then french and italian ever since. And one of the italians was french anyway, being a fiat ulysse lol. Cant see anything else just now that would take me away from citroen or peugeot just now, unless I were to find a good astra gte mk 1, but then that wouldn't be a daily, or a SD1v8 mk 1, but wouldn't be a daily either. The only thing I would chance the c4 for at the mo would be another c4vts, but a diesel one if I go back to work next month, however after getting this one sorted out,,,,,,,,the price to change would probably buy a lot of petrol. More chance of an extra car for work that I don't care about, old saxo or 106 diesel and just run it to the ground.

I was at the local car auction last night. Just for a look see. was sitting on my hands at a pug 407 2.0 hdi auto with a very high spec and covered 62000 miles warranted. Needed a polish and a couple of tyres, had a full service history. Bidding reached £1580, provisional sale. Cheap car. I was going to bid for a berlingo multispace 1.9d, 52 reg with a big 206000miles. It was tidt for its age and miles had a new mot and sold for £450. That would have done as a cheap runner for work, were I back, and could chuck all the junk in the world in the back without any worries at all. Does anyone know if the 1.9d runs on veggie?

I've been busy today. Was at physio for back problems, she is very happy with my progress, and I dont have to go back again. It's all coming good. I celebrated by doing a service on the C4. Oil, filter, air filter, plugs. Thats the engine side done. Whoever put the oil filter on should be shot the worst one I've had to get off for a long time. The spark plugs were virtually new by the look of them, but because I had new ones, replaced them anyway. Going to change brake fluid and coolant at weekend, my son will be available to help with the bleeding. the car improving all the time now

I think going to an auction sounds very dangerous! A hack for £450 would have been good though.

Good to get the VTS serviced, at least the filter has plenty of space around it. How easily did the coil pack come off? I've heard they can be a bit of a pig on these. Did you use a standard air filter or have you got a Pipercross or similar?
