Xantia increase steering assistance?

Hi All,

Is there a way to increase the level of steering power assistance? My "new" car has heavier steering than the old one, and that too was heavier than you tend to get these days. it's always a bit annoying when I get back into the Xantia having driven pretty much anything else.

Could be down to the tyres but if you can increase the hydraulic pressure it will lighten the steering but having not done it myself someone else will have to tell you how.

Try lubricating the UJ at the bottom of the steering column first.

Hi Peter, i actually swapped the front wheels across to the new car when I bought it because my original car had better tyres (Pirelli P6's) with more tread. It has also now had new ball joints.

I hate light power steering no feel in the car. The 2 bxes and the xantia ive drivern. Have superb steering. When i had the laguna. It was to late filmesey feeling
