I agree, I think they are going to disappear gradually, we need to start saving them :(
Hopefully we'll get lots at the national, I'll be bringing mine :-D

I was going to scrap a SINKER.. But decided against it.. The first job was to stop the fuel drainage.. I think Ive done it. It appears to have been the fuel primer bulb!!

One of the very first Xantias, Peter - commonly deciphered by the chevrons on the bonnet and named a sinker as they'll sink down to the floor after being turned off for a little while - due to having no anti-sink valve IIRC...

Normally just the early K and L reg ones with chevrons on the bonnet but I believe that Paul has got a chevrons-on-the-bonnet Xantia that's not a Sinker, though...!

Yup, one of those too..

Very nomrally Sinker Xantias are K's and L's, but they carried over the BX suspension initially...

But early on in 1994, a revision was then made to the cars. I at first, thought anti sink was added along with chevrons moving to the grill and the additio of Drivers Air Bag and pre tensioners... However, this is not so. Ive an L reg with no air bags, and chevrons on the bonnet and with anti sink. Its an ORIGINAL car too!

Peter - NO, Im not, with all the recet coil spring failiures Ive seen, im SOOOOO GLAD Ive not got srpings...

I'm loving picking up stuff about X Citroens!
You are right, mine has had new steel springs (before i got it)

I have never been in a Xantia or XM. Have driven CX, BX, ZX & GS quite a lot though! (years ago)

Peter, next time I am visiting my family in Haywards Heath, I would be happy for you to have a go in my Xantia, Gracie. She is only an LX, with the basic suspension, but I like her. If I'd known, you could have had a drive in her at the X Rally.

If they do have, it will be a Petrol. The Petrol models ONLY were initially launched.. then the Diesels a few months later..

That's a very kind offer, maybe at the next get together? I'm sure to be at another one.

Tell you what. Forget a xantia.. get a ride in an xm. . You will LOVE. It. If i have my 24v s1 manual at a rally and hopefully cxm this year then you will know what performance and large cars are then. Plus the best ride in the world. . The xantia just. Doesn't touch the xm at all. ..
