Re: The CCC X Rally - 7th April 2013.
What a day indeed! First can I just say thanks to all those that came along. I found there was one thing wrong though...not enough time! It really did seem to fly-by...
A very encouraging turnout indeed for the second show - in total we had 111 cars though the gates. This is up from 83 last year...
This year was more of an equal mix of numbers of cars in attendance and below you can see the run down. Xantia's were the most common this year!
Xantia - 23
XM - 20
BX - 20
Other Modern Citroens - 13
Other Older Citroen - 12
CX - 10
DS3s - 7
Non-Citroen - 6
Regarding the awards, these were judged and chosen by the previous year's winners and also dad, Patrick, although ultimately the decision is with the previous winner - these are also listed below:
CX
1st - CX GTi Turbo Series 1 - Jon Langman's.
2nd - CX 20 RE Safari - Andrew's.
3rd - CX DTR Turbo 2 - - Bob's.
XM
1st - XM VSX TD Estate - .
2nd - XM Onyx - .
3rd - XM SED TD Auto - Rob.
Xantia
1st - Xantia 1.9TD Estate - Neil's.
2nd - Xantia 3.0 V6 - .
3rd - Xantia Activa V6 - Shaun Lilley's.
BX
1st - BX Meteor - Gary's.
2nd - BX 16 TRS - Tim's.
3rd - BX 19 Digit - Franklin's.
The Shed of the Show was awarded to Barry Annell's BX Estate (that's two BXs that have won Shed of the Show now...)
The Special Prize was awarded to Brian Primmer for many dedicated years to CCC Rallies with parts being brought along and advice being given.
Unfortunately I didn't seem to take many photos (just over 40!) but I'll get cracking with the editing tonight and get them posted up. Looking forward to other people's photos.
Good to see faces old and new, spent most of the day chatting and apologies to those I didn't get around to having a chat with.
I suppose you know what Project X is now then...

Great day out and really good to meet some people face to face... I'll be placing the order with Brian for some door trim strips for my steadily-improving Activa in the very near future! Many thanks for those involved in the organisation of a really good event, particular thanks to whoever organised the weather.

I've got sunburnt!
What a lot to look at. Shame almost no one I talked to was from this forum!
Next time if you all stay with your cars, I will know who you are.
Nice pictures Dj Adams!

Re: The CCC X Rally - 7th April 2013.
Well guys, recently made it back home from the x rally......
Today our very own "knights of the road" - Will (dieselman off the xm forum) and Jim (citrojim) saved my bacon and recovered me about 5 miles from the x rally when part of my gearshift linkage system decided to shear in half .....A quick trawl through my phone and a phone call later Will and Jim roll up in an identical K reg xm 2.1td and proceed to diagnose the problem and with the aid of ever trusty cable ties, Jim's "magic hands", Will's expertise of xm gearlinkages, and an improvised ramp and vehicle support, my xm is soon back on the road and i roll into the x rally...albeit a bit behind my intended arrival time
Just when i thought generosity couldnt get much better, Steve (trainman) volunteered to follow me home from the show up the A1, down the M62 and M60, and right to my driveway to make sure i got home safe and sound...
I know i said it before, but guys....thankyou ever so much for your help...i was in a sticky situation and you got me not only to the show, but also back home again.
I owe you each a favour.....which feel free to call me on whenever i may be able to help you.
Citroen folks....truly the best sort

Re: The CCC X Rally - 7th April 2013.
Nice pictures djadams and I saw your Activa there, recognised the numberplate and realised it was our old once. Still looking very nice indeed!
Nice pics Peter - when I was moving dad's Gold CX I saw you at the top of the bank with your camera! Thanks for coming along, and nice to meet you!
Looking forward to the next rally - hopefully more time to see everyone as it all went too fast!
Pick of the rally for me was probably Neil's Xantia...

Re: The CCC X Rally - 7th April 2013.
Nice to meet you Franklin.
My favourite was the Xantia with the engine bay cleaner than brand new or was it one of the CX Safaris or was it a tasty XM! Can't make up my mind.
Which was Neils Xantia BTW?

Fantastic day thanks, nice turn out, great cars and excellent weather. We caught the sun too. What was also a refreshing change, not having to refuel the car for the trip home!

Re: The CCC X Rally - 7th April 2013.
Cheers guys!
Figure I should also post a pic of my mate Ben's car. Sadly his missus vetoed the purchase of a CX but it's the product of a great deal of ongoing hard graft and he was responsible for inviting me to my first CCC event (the 2010 DSM, to which I was chauffeured in his mate's SM no less).
It's very smart, but the body control isn't quite up to Activa standards - he'd follow me into a roundabout judging that it didn't look too tight and then squirm and squeal his way round it with his outside door mirror dragging on the blacktop...
