The first season of Dark Angel was excellent, but the second wasn't as good (I believe James Cameron had less or no involvment in the second season, plus she doesn't look as good with the longer hair).

Sounds an intriguing programme...

Dark Angel was a TV series in the late 90's, James Cameron created it and was heavily invovled with the first season.
A US government organisation is creating genetically enhanced super soldiers by mixing animal DNA with human, although the "soldiers" still look human (Max, the main charactor played by Jessica Alba, is "in heat" at least once due to her feline DNA).
When the soldiers are still children, a bunch of them manage to escape.
Few years later a nuclear bomb is exploded high above the US disabling much technology and destroying the country's economy. 10 years later, most of the US is like a 3rd world country although there are still those who live in luxury.
Max tries to track down the other kids she escaped with, meets up with an anonymous blogger (who's rich which is handy) that helps people escape from the US.
They take down the organisation she escaped from and meet several of the other kids now young adults.
In the second season, it got a bit silly, earlier genetic experiments started turning up looking a bit like the animals they were blended with and if memory serves it turns out there's been a colony of them living practically next door to Max all this time.
A blood cult is introduced, they're producing homo superior via natural breeding over the millenia.
They believe that a comet passed the Earth eons ago leaving virus like particles which killed 97% of humans, and it's coming back. They want to ensure the humans that survive are ones they've created so the world will be inherited by them.
I'd given up by then but it turns out the guy behind the super soldier project is an ex-cult member who thinks everyone has the right to survive the comet so ran the super soldier project to develop a genetic treatment for all humans.
The TV networks then put the show out of it's misery, after moving it to the dreaded Friday night slot (apparently in the US no one watches TV on Friday nights) it lost 4 million viewers.

Anyway, Jessica Alba:

Sin City
Saw this on the TV a while back, channel-hopped into it about a third of the way through and found it very confusing.

Just watched another episode and a half of Dark Angel - fell asleep halfway through one last night.
The tatty yellow DS keeps popping up, always very briefly.

For a really grim film of similar name try Jar City
I read a lot of Scandinavian books, among them those of Arnaldur Indriadasson, who wrote Jar City (Mýrin). None quite as murky as this one.

You need to watch Sin City from the start, as there are several sub plots that interweave around each other.

It's one of those films you either like or hate.
Personally it's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.
I don't see what people rave about with it. It's not even worth watching for Miss Alba (unlike Into The Blue).

And another DS in Dark Angel - whoever is in charge must have a thing about them.

Series 2 is definitely in decline but I like her with the long hair.

:offtopic:
No French cars in this film, or any other cars for that matter.
There is a bit of a surprise at the end though :)

Flashmob.

I see it is up on iPlayer just now, may give it a whizz.

Just watching the 1985 series of "Edge Of Darkness" streaming from somewhere on the other computer. Hooked it into the plasma TV for the first time and it is much better than anticipated.
Only seen one French car up to now, a tatty 2CV.
