I wonder what the Activa concepts looks like underneath...

Back along I went to the Citroen Conservatoire with the French BX and XM club and I got to see 2 particularly special concept cars in the flesh, Activa 1 and 2. I thought it would have been rude not to spend a bit of time capturing the more intimate bits of the cars while I was there as many people would find it very interesting. Here's a link to the album.

Thanks Kev :-D Now that's rather interesting stuff. Wonder if they had trouble with leaky rams?

Those two cars look rather attractive and could have been really stunning if they made it to production...

Would have been a nice replacement for the Xm when it was retired.
1.9TD+ SX Xantia Estate (Cassy) running on 100% veg
1.9TD SX Xantia Hatchback (Jenny) running on 100% veg for sale

The Activa2 was always a coupe body running on a modified Xm floorpan
and apparently sharing quite a bit of commonality with the donor source.
It's actually a shame the Xm didn't sell well as there was a suggestion of
a coupe would join the range and the Activa2 showcased some of the then
current Citroen thinking/styling.

though there's overtones of Calibra and Probe about it...

Of course the more mind blowing Activa1 may have looked slightly fuller
in it's body form but is one hell of a looker/concept:

just look at those seats and 4wheel steer! I'd love one (of each please!),
especially with the trick suspension.

They are indeed a stunning sight and the fact that both of the cars were fully working at one stage, its quite a task. Mainly the Activa1 with its 4 wheel steering, 4 wheel drive and so on.

Any CCC member will be getting a bit more info about these cars landing on their door mat within the next few weeks

I can see why they never made production, the Activa1 is not car like enough and has quite a few comprimises about its design. Activa2 could well have gone into production but apparently it was thought that because of its price it would have to compete with well established BMW and other high end cars. So it was never going to sell in any great number and was dropped.

Activa2 seems to have had some poorly masked painting done at some point

Interesting Vid of Activa 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=4D8 ... =endscreen

The animated graphics show the double wishbone suspension with horizontal rams which can also be seen in Red's under car photos.

Nice car. Awesome technology and design.
The 4WS made it into a production Honda. Some of the styling cues are actually now commonplace in current cars, especially the rear end treatment with heavy visual emphasis on lower bumper diffuser area and integrated and styled exhaust tips which is very in vogue at present.

If I won the euro millions as well as a proper C4 to the same spec as loebs last winning machine I've be asking for one of these with a slightly updated interior. Ie no CRT or buttons but a nice fast touchscreen and a new steering wheel column mounted infotainment control stick, adaptive cruise control and either a very pokey 2.0hdi or the nice 3.0v6 HDi twin turbo without dpf or diesel cat rubbish!
