You get back in a hydropneumatic car after being stuck with coil springs for a while!
I've noticed that owning a Xantia has made me more aware of ride quality, I feel that I'm always thinking "mm comfy, but I wonder if my centre spheres need replacing".
In other news, my car is mobile again, not long until she'll be legal for another year.

It can take an experience in an inferior car to notice how good the hydropneumatic suspension really is
I also like the Hydractive, mine has been used this evening on some very enjoyable roads

Hydractive is rather fun, I like having a "make the car turn better" button on fast and bendy roads.

I've just realised it's only going to be 6-7 weeks before I rotate cars and get to drive the XM with it's "make the car turn better" button

I think that should be the replacement term for the Sport button!Chlorate wrote:Hydractive is rather fun, I like having a "make the car turn better" button on fast and bendy roads.
Mine is quite often on in the Activa, makes it do slightly more than "turn better"

I'd love to drive an Activa one day, I bet that's something rather special.

I don't know how you can bear to be away from the XM for so long Kev...red_dwarfers wrote: I've just realised it's only going to be 6-7 weeks before I rotate cars and get to drive the XM with it's "make the car turn better" button
Howe does the ride of the GS compare?
It still staggers me the world of difference between an XM and a Xantia...
I can't recall the last time I drove a car with tin springs and I'm quite happy with that...

Re: Isn't it lovely when...
After my 'adventures' with a broken Fiesta front spring I found another reason for liking hydropneumatic cars

Re: Isn't it lovely when...
Indeed, however there is a solution to this ... try finding one!CitroJim wrote: But I warn you, if you do then you'll want one...
I had a spring brake on me a couple of years ago with a Seat, hit a sharp bit with a loud bang. Luckily it was able to be driven away, but if they go through your tyre at speed ... I'd much rather have a failed strut top! And then, there is no reason for that to happen, as a failure can be spotted before it happens.
