Top Gear Rugby

Post by Hell Razor5543 »

Just watched Top Gear Rugby. Totally mad, but I wonder how long it took to repair the ground at Twickenham?

I suspect it was filmed just before a scheduled laying of new turf:-)

Well, yes, OK.

Still, what fun, and good advertising for Kia and Twickenham.

I wonder what they do with all the cars?

Best avoid buying a silver or Grey Kia for some time!

Now, I may be wrong , but I'm sure I read somewhere that the cars they use for stuff like this, and the Yaris football they did, are all pre-full production versions that were going to get stripped and cubed anyway, so if they got a battering it wouldn't matter at all.

I had that thought Mike, hopefully.

The Aygos they used first for football did the rounds of the dealers as advertising cars. There was one at my local Toyota dealer, only as a sign board though.

Or indeed ever...

I was asking myself the same question about the turf...

I must say I enjoyed that rugby far more than I ever would the more orthodox sort...

I also had a good laugh at the random Bruce Willis cameo during the Cee'd review. I would guess he'll be the next guest on to promote the new Die Hard.

All things considered, last night's TG was generally a good giggle... All but the bit I hate, it was OK. The bit I hate is the star in the reasonably priced car. Haven't a clue who it was last night as it's a cue for me to go and make a cuppa...

Some Z list so-called celebrity I assume, as per usual

Nope, it was Lewis Hamilton having another go to see if he could drive faster in the dry. He could.

I was only jesting. Surprised he appeared on TG though in all honesty...

When Lewis first appeared on TG, he drove in wet, oily conditions, and still posted a blistering time (and he didn't appear to be trying that hard). He was extended an invitation to return when conditions were better, as it was obvious that he could go a whole lot faster. He returned, he posted an incredible time, and he still didn't appear to break a sweat. That young man is a truly gifted driver.
