What is this Gaiter?

Unread post by begins »

Hi all,

Please refer to the attached picture.

Both the left and right gaiter found at the rear joints have been torn. What do you guys call them? I ordered the wrong CV Joint Gaiter from ebay instead of the one found in the pic.

Please advise me.

Thank you very much.

Regards,

Hi there,

It would be useful to know what car they are attached to. There are members on the site who have access to the Citroen service site, and they could get you the right part number once they know what they are looking for.

That's an alley gaiter. La reemplacement c'est lacostely.

No, seriously it's a rear suspension boot. By the look of it, from your C5? Before replacement, make sure to investigate why it was torn - no benefit to fitting new parts then breaking them all over again. End of the rod (in its socket) should be well greased with a high pressure, waterproof grease.

Now waiting eagerly for the arrival of my Citroen Service Box DVD to help me with future parts ordering.
