Hello,
I have recently purchased a 2001 Citroen C5 Exclusive SE V6 Auto.
She seems to be in good nick, and low mileage 35k.
I have two problems:
1) Sat/Nav. I have the Large Colour Display. The Sat/Nav is working fine.
Apart from this: whenever the ignition is switched off any setting which I have changed, e.g. from Male to Female Voice Guidance, or any Addresses which I have saved to File, are lost. All of the previous owner's saved addresses are there but, mine are lost.
2) Parking Sensors not working. The Reversing Lights are working ok. However, the Parking Sensors are totally dead. No audio signal when reverse is selected.
Please help asap. These probs' are, (especially the Sat/Nav) driving me crazy.
And, I am too scared to take the car to a dealer, for fear of a huge bill.
I eagerly await any possible help.
Thank,
Paul

Re: C5 Sat Nav
Sounds to me like you may have a blown fuse, do you have the owners handbook to check which fuse supplies power to the sat nav memory and the rear parking sensors ?

Re: C5 Sat Nav
F11. 15 Amp : Display - Alarm Siren - Navigation System - Air Conditioning - Carphone
F20. 10 Amp : Navigation System - Audio System
These are the only two Fuses which mention Sat/Nav.
Never tested Air/Con, too cold. Nor the Alarm. However, the Display and the Sat/Nav do work. It just will not Save Data.
The Audio System does work.
I will certainly check Fuses. However, I would not think that either of these are the guilty party.
Many thanks for your reply.

Sorry Lighty,
I forgot to mention, I have checked,
F24. 15 Amp : Air Conditioning - Carphone - Parking Assistance - Instrument Panel - Telephone Amplifier.
The Fuse was OK.
Many thanks,
If you, or anyone else have any further thoughts, please post away.
Many thanks,
Paul

Re: C5 Sat Nav
If this is the navi-drive like the later models, with a memory, it could be full. Have yo tried deleting the previous owners input?

Yes, I have.
At first they Delete. Just as, at first, mine appear to be saved.
However, after the ignition is switched off, my saved destinations are gone, whereas the old ones are back.
Many thanks, and please keep trying.

I don't suppose this could be a job for the BSI Reset, that I keep hearing about?
Many thanks for any help.

Re: C5 Sat Nav
I have now checked Fuses F11 & F20, both were ok.
After I replaced F11 I needed to reset the Car's Date, Time and Display Settings. Therefore, this must be the supply of Constant Power.
I wonder if a reinstall of the Firmware would be of any use.
If anyone has any thoughts, please let me know.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: C5 Sat Nav
I have just had another thought.
I have been searching Forums re' Sat/Nav problems.
I often see people with VDO-Dayton units saying that their Sat/Nav is stuck in Demo Mode and therefore, they cannot save any new addresses.
They are told : DEMO mode needs to be turned off in the Service Menu. They must enter the Diagnosis Menu 6330 and select DEMO MODE OFF.
This seems like it could well be the answer to my Sat/Nav problem. Unfortunately, my Sat/Nav does not appear to have a Service Menu.
Or, if it does, I can't find it.
Does anyone out there know how to switch Demo Mode Off.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: C5 Sat Nav
Sorry mate. I had a swift look at my sat nav and I can't even find a demo mode, never mind switch it off.

Thanks, qprdude.
Has anyone ever tried to reinstall their Sat/Nav Firmware?
Does the original Firmware CD let you do this?
If it does, does it reset the Sat/Nav?
Thanks everyone.
