c5 lx Clock light dark on one side need advice re replacemen

The clock light seems to have gone on the left side as it gradually goes dark from right to left.

Is this an led or bulb and if so is it easy to replace. Advice sought.

Hoping it's not like my parents Astra where the whole dash unit has to come off???????

Although I haven't done it but need to, it is allegedly a simple fix.
The surround comes of by levering with a pair of slim blunt tools and the unit is retained by a pair of small torx screws.
Bulbs available at Maplins, Halfords, some motorists shops and eBay.
