Not permitted. Speed cameras have to be very conspicuous by law and not only that, they have to be very visible and easily seen.

Hence why they look like mutant canaries...

Did they not quietly repeal this, just after the start of the second Iraq war? I seem to remember reading or hearing something to that effect a while back. Although I'm more than willing to admit I may be wrong.

I think the road just has to be sign posted as having speed cameras on it, i dont think the cameras themselves have to be in plain sight anymore and bright colours. These cameras in the armco have been in use in europe for some time i think though.

Visibility of police officers is almost zero here. I wonder if they've perfected the invisibility cloak...

Maybe they should recruit chavs for coppering? It would make for some hilarious YT videos as the ably disguised Sgt Burberry nicked lads all over the estates. He could even drive a Xhosa made into a divvy van.

regarding speed cameras visibility remember that the motorways are now littered with them in the gantries behind the dot matrix signs, painted grey so unless you're actually looking you won't see them. Not exactly in plain sight....

It's not just the UK. They're always wanting to try dodgy stuff like that here.

I see the mandates upon our behaviour as credit extended by myself to morons; for everything they force me to "care" about there is one aspect of my life that I would otherwise consider an attribute of morality, that I consciously diminish. I've removed myself from the organ donor list as part of this process.
