For a few weeks I’ve been hearing what sounds like a loose belt and a squealing cam belt tensioner. However I only determined this really was the case when yesterday my car wouldn't start because the cam belt was skipping. But what I need to determine is, are any of the valves bent. As I’ve already said the engine has been running with a loose belt, the belt hasn’t snapped and it has only been skipping whilst I was cranking it over (so very low engine speed). What do you think the probability is of having bent valve(s)? And how can I check for bent valves without removing the cylinder head.
Thanks
Martin
