Just the same as renewing any other bearing, Paul - you just need a puller with loooooooooong legs  It tells you in the BOL how to do it - page 8.6 in my Xantia version

Thanks richard,

Anyone know the bearing spec? Ooo Ill have a look on service citroen to see if I can see what size it is...

The shaft is for a HDi 110..

35x62 - 16 bearing is on service Citroen....

Ebay only have 35x62 - 14 or 18... typical!

Paul, as long as the dimensions are right then the number of balls is not critical - the more the more load the bearing can take..

Or do is the 14, 16 and 18 refer to the width?

If so then one a bit thinner or thicker will be OK as the hockey sticks will be able to accommodate it. If the housing can take the slightly thicker one than go for that one.

Make sure too the bearing you buy is a shielded one. Open balls will be no good at all as the grease will go in no time to be replaced by wet crud...

Ahhh thats what the third number is for.... number of balls..

Right.. so just the 35x62 is the important things...

Will THIS BEARING do ok then??

Thanks Jim.

There'll be three critical dimensions Paul, Internal diameter, external diameter and width.

If you look at the old bearing closely there may be a number on it which identifies it and that may help source a replacement. Normally all these sort of bearings are pretty standard so the dimensions and the identifying number should allow you to find a generic replacement for it...

I've seen websites in the past that specialise in bearings and oil seals. One such should be able to supply. This one is a typical sort of one...

the third dimension is bearing tickness nout to do with a load of balls    ,

i would think as long as the hockey stick bolts will clamp the bearing, it wont matter within reason the thickness of the bearing,

dont you have a bearing stockist in the ooop thur in the wooly wilds then Paul

Cheap and overnight delivery from here: http://ptandbearings.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Just give them the number off the bearing and they'll match it/.

Paul, you'll want a press-on collar as well, assuming you swell the old one with a cold chisel to remove.
