1. Using Galletto cabe and laptop/pc (or similar) read, copy and backup original.
2. Modify the original file using ECUsafe
3. upload modified file to ecu ( the nerve wracking part the vehicle needs a good battery/ hooked to a good charger as does the pc as a part/failed upload can kill the ecu then requiring a bench flash or replacement).

4. Remove the dpf, this can be done either before or after you have modified the ecu map

To read and write the map to the ecu you will need a Galletto cable available from ebay, my first one went faulty after one use, I ordered a second from the same uk ebay seller who i returned and got refunded on the faulty one.

To modify the map you will need software called ecu flash or the file modified by someone who has it.

To change the map should only take 20 mins or so, but in my case by the time I trip over everything in the garage etc a couple of hours  I also spent a while reading up about the process and how you can tell if the file has been modified (the checksum changes)

The Fap removal itself should take a couple of hours depending on seized bolts, possibly less if you know what you are doing.

I didn't have any problem with limp mode prior to the dpf removal. My mpg has been what I think is poor for this car in the the 18 months that I have owned it 30mpg. The dpf was pretty clean when I removed it so saw no impovement there, however I no longer have the worry of the expense of the dpf/eolsys.
Others however who have had blocked filters have noticed a noticeable difference.

Hi I must say thanks to HaydnR for advise and Nathan at [email protected] who supplied the ECU file. All my faults relating to DPF now removed and car now performs brilliantly
